DPB, Yes, of course a Pit’s bite, in general, will do more harm than a Chihuahua.
Just like a Macaw’s
bite, which can, like, crack a walnut, and/or Brazil nut, will do much more harm than a budgie’s bite.
Or, like a Kenworth running your arse, and its appendages over, will leave you much flatter than if a Smart Car were to hit you.
And, it’s also a fact that certain breeds of dogs, have been bred for centuries for specific tasks, whether it be for guarding, hunting, herding, or riding around in a purse with its head sticking out.
As others and myself have already stated, it is the responsibility of the dog’s owner, to make sure that it is properly trained and socialized around humans, other dogs, and other critters.
IMHO, if it can be determined that a dog, not just a Pit, Rottie, Dobie, etc, has been abused and/or intentionally trained to be aggressive, then that person that did such, should face the same charges and punishment, than the person that injured or killed another, with their car, gun, whatever, should that dog kill or injure someone, or another animal.
