BIZNOTE: Seaside Grill closed

That’s what we found on the door at Seaside Grill (2810 Alki SW) early this morning after going over to check out reader reports that it has closed. One sent a social-media screenshot for an “everything must go” sale listed to start at 9:30 this morning. No notices on the exterior, though.

Seaside Grill opened a little over a year ago in the space where Locust Cider had also closed months earlier. The owner was a co-proprietor of Pegasus Pizza when it was in the Alki space from which it was evicted in 2022 (the restaurant now in The Junction is under different ownership).

that’s too bad, but whenever I walked by there it didn’t look very busy , not sure why

Crappy overpriced food and drinks? Frazzled/overworked service? Seemed to be the case when I went there.

I think long time locals can figure out why they closed.

      Yup

I know why.  Will never support a business that they own.

Landlords are charging obscene rents so not surprising.

Rent is almost 8k a month

The business was listed for sale for $160k.

Not sure how they were able to lease again given their history with Pegasus, the building owner probably knew they were at high risk of defaulting on rent

Regardless of how high the rent is it is never okay to just not pay it or the employees. Not sure how this lady keeps getting to open businesses.

Can’t afford to eat out….I guess I am responsible for the restaurant closures.Everything will is above $25 and the portion is so small…

Surprised it lasted this long. Interior was cold/not a welcoming vibe, food overpriced for the quality, and service was poor. Plus, the owner’s history as other commenters have already flagged.

Charging premium rent on what is largely a seasonal or weekend destination is an unsustainable business plan for commercial real estate buyers or renters… whatever the real estate agent says.
