I received a disturbing email from my husband today while @ work – mentioning something about our view being ruined.

I came home and was horrified to find two male workers in the abandoned lot behind us that were 3/4 done cutting down a maple tree that was 50+ years old.

I inquired if the owner of the property had hired them, to which their answer was “no”. Apparently the owner of the property next door to the abandoned lot hired them to cut down the tree.

    “Why?” I asked.

“It was reeking havoc on his property.”

“Oh, are the roots strangling the plumbing or something?”

“No…he was tired of the leaves falling on his roof and patio.”

Are you serious? This isn’t the wild west, and I am almost positive it isn’t legal.

I guess I just want to rant because I am pissed off – and sad.

Anyone know how I can track down property owners?

Could you mean *rogue* tree cutters?

    http://wsu.edu/~brians/errors/rouge.html

And that the tree was supposedly *wreaking* havoc on the property?

Though it is funny to imagine it the way you wrote it… red apple-cheeked tree cutters and a smelly maple.

    Literacy Rocks –

Thank you for pointing out the fact that I am not perfect – I forget sometimes. Please remember that we are all human and though you may be a great speller, I am probably better than you in something.

Though my spelling may suck, I am still troubled by the situation. Thanks all for your posts.

HunterG..mebbe we need to be practicing the virtual third finger salute for responses like that.;-)

I’m hoping that you report this to someone, as it’s totally illegal to cut down a tree on someone elses property, as far as I know. There’s a judge over near Lake Washington who did it, and ended up paying a pretty penny in fines. Good luck !

Literacy Rocks…yeah, it does, but this is a forum, and as Hunter said, we ain’t all perfect, yourself included, I’m sure. Have a nice day.
